Basketball Game Preview: Everglades Gators vs. Cooper City Cowboys

Everglades and Cooper City are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Everglades Gators will challenge the Cooper City Cowboys on Wednesday. Both are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Everglades is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They blew past Dr. Krop 69-43. The victory was familiar territory for the Gators who have now won five matches in a row.

Meanwhile, Cooper City entered their tilt with South Broward on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 71-46 win. Given the Cowboys' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 497th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Everglades is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Cooper City, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.

Everglades came up short against Cooper City in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 77-72. Can Everglades avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
