Softball Recap: Monticello's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to 11

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Monticello walked away with it. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Prairie Grove Tigers on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Billies sure are getting used to it with their 11th in a row.

Alaina Lyle made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Libby Kingston, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

Monticello's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Prairie Grove, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12.

As of now, neither Monticello nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
