Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Ridge). They came out on top against the North Crowley Panthers by a score of 10-5 on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.

Hayden Jones looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lucas Yates, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Thijs Fallon, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Lake Ridge and bumps their season record up to 5-9-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing nine hits in those games compared to only 5.07 in the others. As for North Crowley, they dropped their record down to 7-13 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
