Football Recap: Conifer Lobos vs. Evergreen Cougars
Conifer's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 28-16 victory over the Evergreen Cougars. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lobos also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Conifer had a senior duo take command as Carston Wolanske rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry and Benson White threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Wolanske was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards. 86 of White's passing yards were hauled in by Solomon Washer, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Conifer has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.2 points per game. As for Evergreen, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4.
