Softball Recap: Shikellamy Takes a Loss

Shikellamy had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 6-14 to make it four. They came up short against the Pittston Patriots, falling 13-2. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Braves couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Pittston, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-8. Considering they have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Pittston's part, Samantha Herbert made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Herbert was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Marina Antal was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mikaila Sarf, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

As of now, neither Shikellamy nor Pittston have any future games scheduled.
