Recap: New Castle Trojans vs. Shelbyville Golden Bears
The New Castle Trojans were the 50-38 winner over the Shelbyville Golden Bears when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. New Castle took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shelbyville.
Despite the loss, New Castle still got an impressive performance from Colin Taylor, who scored 19 points. The matchup was Taylor's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Landon Thompson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Shelbyville found their leader in underclassman Mar Nicholson, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Brinkman, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
New Castle's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Shelbyville, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.
