Volleyball Recap: Newark Memorial Comes Up Short

Newark Memorial lost against Alameda back in September of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cougars took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets.

While Newark Memorial was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22.

Newark Memorial has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Alameda, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Newark Memorial wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against American on the 9th. As for Alameda, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Salesian College Preparatory on the 11th.
