Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Railsplitters vs. Richwoods Knights

The Lincoln Railsplitters will take on the Richwoods Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lincoln took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Auburn 15-5. The win continues a trend for the Railsplitters in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Richwoods came tearing into Wednesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Wildcats. Five seems to be a good number for the Knights as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Richwoods pushed their record up to 18-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 12-15.
