Meanwhile, Wolfe pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. At bat, Morse went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double, while Wolfe got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Daniel Kelly was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Miner, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs.
Newman Central Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .559. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Newman Central Catholic pushed their record up to 21-3-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Monmouth-Roseville, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-18.
