Saguaro (Scottsdale, Ariz.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 63-0 win over Coronado (Scottsdale, Ariz.).
The Sabercats put up 14 points in the opening frame. Saguaro scored on a touchdown run by
Kash Robinson and a rushing touchdown.
SHS was up 42-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Robinson in the first quarter.
The Sabercats expanded their lead to 63 points entering the fourth quarter. Saguaro scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run.
Robinson was the top performer for SHS. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 13 touchdowns on the season.
The Sabercats came in allowing an average of 21.0 points per game this season. The defense really stepped up, holding the Dons well below their season average of 17.0 points scored per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, SHS came away with a 56-0 victory.
In a non-conference game next week Coronado (3-5) takes on Payson, and Saguaro (6-2) will go up against Arcadia in a III Section III game.
