Recap: Powers Catholic Chargers vs. Grand Blanc Bobcats
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Powers Catholic Chargers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 62-58 victory over Grand Blanc. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Javontae Ross, who scored 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Connor Kelly was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Powers Catholic and bumps their season record up to 14-3. As for Grand Blanc, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.
Powers Catholic will head out on the road to square off against Bay City Western at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grand Blanc, they and Hamady will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hamady will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Grand Blanc is ranked 90th).
