Basketball Recap: Rock Springs Skates Past Rawlins with Ease

There's no place like home for Rock Springs, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They breezed by the Rawlins Outlaws to the tune of 73-31 on Friday. For the TIGERS, this counts as revenge for the 46-45 victory the Outlaws walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Rock Springs was led to victory by Boston James and Arrington Purvis. James went 8 for 12 on his way to 19 points, while Purvis went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Syvon Thomas, who posted four points and three steals.

Rock Springs was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rawlins only racked up six assists.

Lincoln Searle and Manny Vialpando certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Searle put up five points, while Vialpando had three points.

The win got Rock Springs back to even at 1-1. As for Rawlins, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Rock Springs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-53 victory against Hot Springs County on the 21st. As for Rawlins, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 46-44 defeat against Bear Lake on the 21st.
