La Joya Community scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 52-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Metro Tech Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Lobos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-27 back in November of 2024.

Metro Tech found their leader in sophomore Mariah Price, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Price has scored all season. Melody Rodriguez was another key player, putting up 18 points.

La Joya Community dropped their record down to 4-13 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Metro Tech, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-17.

La Joya Community has already played their next game, a 30-20 loss against Copper Canyon on the 7th. As for Metro Tech, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 77-41 defeat against St. Mary's on the 7th.
