Carmel Christian falls despite strong effort from Kam Taylor

The Carmel Christian Cougars fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Lake Norman Wildcats on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 86-82 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Saturday (78), Carmel Christian still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Carmel Christian still got an impressive performance from Kam Taylor, who scored 30 points along with nine rebounds and five blocks. The contest was Taylor's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Bryce Slay was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Carmel Christian now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Lake Norman, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Carmel Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Northside Christian Academy at 12:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Northside Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Carmel Christian in North Carolina (Northside Christian Academy is ranked 31st, while Carmel Christian is ranked 99th). Lake Norman won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Weddington at 6:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Weddington is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
