Basketball Recap: Eau Claire Takes a Loss

Eau Claire lost against Clinton last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eau Claire Shamrocks fell just short of the Clinton Red Devils by a score of 51-48. The Shamrocks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Eau Claire lost, don't look at Manny Davis. Despite the final result, he posted 15 points. Davis has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was AJ Garner, who earned ten points.

Clinton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tushawan Richardson led the charge by putting up 20 points and eight rebounds. Nyterian Smith was another key player, posting 13 points and five boards.

Eau Claire's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Clinton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Eau Claire wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 70-65 loss against Columbia on the 11th. As for Clinton, they have also already played their next contest, a 68-58 victory against Mid-Carolina on the 11th.
