Basketball Recap: James Monroe Comes Up Short

After flying high against Culpeper County last Thursday, James Monroe came back down to earth. The James Monroe Yellow Jackets received a blow on Friday as they fell 81-65 to the Eastern View Cyclones. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellow Jackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-43 back in December of 2024.

James Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Eastern View, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. James Monroe will square off against Caroline at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastern View, they will take on Chancellor at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern View knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Chancellor likes a good challenge.
