Football Recap: Wawasee Comes Up Short

Wawasee extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They were beaten by the Northridge Raiders 42-7. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Johnny Zachary threw for 74 yards and one touchdown. Jaylen Lowery was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Cameron Senter rushed for 81 yards on only seven carries.

Northridge's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Karsyn Rumfelt was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 123 yards and three TDs on only nine passes, and also rushed for 74 yards on only six carries. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Austin Horn, who rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries.

Looking ahead, Wawasee will head out to take on Concord at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Minutemen have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Northridge, they will welcome Goshen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will be up against the RedHawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.43 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
