Softball Recap: Mauston Comes Up Short

Mauston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 26-0 to the Wisconsin Dells Chiefs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Eagles of the 17-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Mauston's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Wisconsin Dells, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-4.

Looking ahead, Mauston will face off against Nekoosa at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Papermakers have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Wisconsin Dells, they are taking a road trip to take on Westfield Area at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chiefs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pioneers have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season.
