Basketball Recap: Christian Liberty Takes a Loss

On Thursday, the Christian Liberty Chargers were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-40 to the Cristo Rey St. Martin CRSM. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alexy Chapa was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 25 points and nine boards for Cristo Rey St. Martin. That makes it four consecutive games in which Chapa has scored at least a third of Cristo Rey St. Martin's points. Lilibeth Martinez was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Christian Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Cristo Rey St. Martin, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-3.

Christian Liberty wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 65-35 defeat against Harvest Christian Academy on the 13th. Cristo Rey St. Martin has also already played their next contest, a 62-25 loss against Waukegan on the 11th.
