Basketball Game Preview: Lac Courte Oreilles Eagles vs. South Shore Cardinals

Lac Courte Oreilles is 0-8 against South Shore since November of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Lac Courte Oreilles Eagles will look to defend their home court against the South Shore Cardinals at 7:15 p.m.

Lac Courte Oreilles is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 69-21 loss at the hands of Solon Springs. While losing is never fun, Lac Courte Oreilles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while Solon Springs is ranked 170th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Shore). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Hurley 70-34. Winning may never get old, but the Cardinals sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

South Shore is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Lac Courte Oreilles, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Lac Courte Oreilles took a serious blow against South Shore in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 86-21. Can Lac Courte Oreilles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
