Basketball Recap: Surry Central Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Surry Central can now relate to. They took a 75-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Community School of Davidson Spartans on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Surry Central lost, don't look at Tripp Mcmillen. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Mcmillen's big performance that evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damen Hazelwood, who to rack up 15 points.

Surry Central's defeat dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Community School of Davidson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season.

Surry Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Community School of Davidson, they are taking a road trip to face off against North Surry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Surry is on a eight-game streak of home wins, Community School of Davidson a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
