Baseball Recap: Hughson Takes a Loss

Hughson blew Escalon out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Escalon got their revenge. The Huskies fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 9-7.

Isaac Lupercio made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Hughson's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-3 (and 2-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Karsen Moore, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Hughson's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Escalon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-5.

While Hughson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
