Basketball Recap: Minersville Takes a Loss

Minersville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes, falling 52-20. While losing is never fun, the Battlin' Miners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 608th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 134th).

Schuylkill Haven found their leader in sophomore Mckenna Runkle, who posted 11 points. Audrey Hutchinson was another key player, putting up eight points.

Minersville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Schuylkill Haven, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-4.

Minersville will head out to challenge Tamaqua at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Schuylkill Haven has already played their next match (against Panther Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
