Baseball Recap: Discovery Canyon Wins Going Away Against Air Academy

Discovery Canyon won the last time they faced Air Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Thunder blew past the Kadets 10-4. The Thunder might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Ryan Egan looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Carson Seeley was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Ross, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Discovery Canyon and bumps their season record up to 10-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Air Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-4-1.

Looking ahead, Discovery Canyon will head out to take on The Classical Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Thunder 3.7, the Titans 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Air Academy, they will welcome Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
