Preview: Johnsonville Flashes vs. Hemingway Tigers
Johnsonville is 0-4 against Hemingway since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Johnsonville Flashes will head out on the road to challenge the Hemingway Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 18 consecutive losses for Johnsonville and 12 for Hemingway.
Johnsonville suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by East Clarendon 64-11. Johnsonville has not had much luck with East Clarendon recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 60-9, which was the final score in Hemingway's tilt against Carvers Bay on Friday. Hemingway was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-7.
Johnsonville's defeat was their tenth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-10. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.4 points per game. As for Hemingway, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.
Johnsonville was dealt a bruising 55-25 defeat at the hands of Hemingway in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Johnsonville was down 34-14.
