After a string of four wins, Eureka's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Taylorville Tornadoes. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tornadoes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2019.
Taylorville had a senior duo take command as Molly Smith had 12 digs and two aces and Brogan Anderson had 11 digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Appel, who had five kills, four digs, and one block.
Eureka's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Taylorville, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Coincidentally, Eureka and Taylorville will both be playing Staunton the next time they take the court. The Hornets will head out to face the Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Tornadoes will head out to face them at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
