Softball Recap: Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Vela Sabercats by a score of 6-2 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Wolverines: when they faced off against the Sabercats back in February, they had to take a 11-1 defeat.

A Luna was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Luna wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was B Badillo, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Vela, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against McAllen Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on April 8. As for Vela, they will venture away from home to take on Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Vela surely won't give up without a fight.
