Volleyball Game Preview: Ware Indians vs. Granby Rams

The Ware Indians will venture away from home to take on the Granby Rams at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Ware is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Ware lost 3-0 to Southwick Regional on Wednesday.

Ware was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-18, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Granby made easy work of Sabis International on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Granby not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Sabis International between 17 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 25-17.

Granby's win came from a few key players Ware will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jake Gagnon, who had ten kills, four aces, and one block. Gagnon is crushing it when it comes to aces: he's served at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Walsh, who had six kills, three digs, and three aces.

Granby was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in four consecutive contests.

Ware's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Granby, their record is now 7-2.
