Softball Recap: Mingus Takes a Loss

Mingus extended their losing streak to ten on Monday, dropping them down to 2-11. They lost 21-3 to the Flagstaff Eagles. The Marauders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Coco Grenough was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

As for Flagstaff, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-4. Considering they have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

On Flagstaff's side, they got a massive performance out of Ryleigh Alex, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Alex continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sophia Garcia, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

While Mingus had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
