Football Recap: Princeton Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Princeton faced off against Mt. Vernon on Friday. The Tigers fell 42-35 to the Wildcats. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the loss, Princeton still got an impressive performance from Karwin Pope, who rushed for 211 yards and four scores while picking up 12.4 yards per carry.

Princeton now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Mt. Vernon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Princeton will head out on the road to face off against North Knox at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 853 yards in their previous games. As for Mt. Vernon, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Southridge at 7:30 p.m. The Wildcats will be up against the Raiders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.75 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
