Luis Mendoza turned in yet another pitching appearance with fewer than two earned runs surrendered on Thursday. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sylmar is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise.

Mendoza's effort led Sylmar over North Hollywood and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Spartans have been dominating at home and they will enter the contest having won 13 straight home games dating back to last season.
