Casa Grande extends road losing streak to three

The Casa Grande Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 65-31 loss at the hands of Campo Verde. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Casa Grande has suffered yet this season.

It was another big night for Kelsey Watts, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds for Campo Verde. Watts is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Madison Coger was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.

Casa Grande's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-10. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.0 points per game. As for Campo Verde, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Casa Grande and Williams Field will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Williams Field presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Casa Grande in Arizona (Williams Field is ranked 43rd, while Casa Grande is ranked 195th). As for Campo Verde, Campo Verde and Higley will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Higley is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
