Softball Recap: Marlborough Victorious

Marlborough's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the Fitchburg Red Raiders 12-6. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Erin Seder was a standout: she scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Taylor Alarie was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Marlborough lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Marlborough's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Fitchburg, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marlborough is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Algonquin Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fitchburg, they will face off against Nashoba Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
