Basketball Game Preview: Pamlico County Hurricanes vs. Swansboro Pirates

The Pamlico County Hurricanes are taking a road trip to take on the Swansboro Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pamlico County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, Pamlico County didn't have too much trouble with Washington County as they won 55-40.

Sydney Whitley-Reese was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 30 points, ten boards, and nine steals. The contest was her tenth in a row with at least ten points. Kyliyah Barber was another key player, putting up four points along with nine steals and five boards.

Pamlico County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Swansboro entered their tilt with Jacksonville on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cardinals, sneaking past 53-50. While the Pirates didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Pamlico County's record is now 7-1. As for Swansboro, their record is now 6-3.

Everything went Pamlico County's way against Swansboro in their previous matchup back in November, as Pamlico County made off with a 56-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pamlico County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
