Softball Recap: Randolph Cardinals vs. Pine Valley Central Panthers
It was a proper cat-fight when Randolph took on Pine Valley Central on Saturday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
Aliza Hind made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
This is the second loss in a row for Randolph and nudges their season record down to 5-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 Forestville Central (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 72.7% over those games). The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
