Softball Game Preview: Goodland Cowboys vs. Scott Beavers

Goodland is 2-8 against Scott since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cowboys will be playing at home against the Beavers at 3:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Goodland blew Lakin out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Lakin got their revenge. The Cowboys fell just short of the Broncs by a score of 5-3. Cowboys fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Broncs since on Friday.

Kaedance Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Alessa Rickard made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Meanwhile, Scott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 12-2 to Cimarron. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Beavers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Ava Deines was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two runs.

Scott's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Goodland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
