Baseball Recap: Chillicothe Comes Up Short

Chillicothe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lafayette Fighting Irish. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Chillicothe's loss dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Lafayette, they pushed their record up to 8-16 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Chillicothe will welcome Savannah at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lafayette, they have already played their next matchup, a 13-0 defeat against Kirksville on the 10th.
