Basketball Recap: Naples Comes Up Short

Naples had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-8 to make it five. They were outmatched by the Harley Allendale Columbia Wolves and fell 52-25. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Big Green Machines have suffered against the Wolves since February 1, 2022.

As for Harley Allendale Columbia, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 27 points or more this season.

Cadence Brecker had another great game (as she tends to do), dropping a double-double with 30 points and 12 boards. Her big performance that evening made it 22 games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lanae Vargas, who posted two points along with seven assists, six rebounds, and four steals.

Looking ahead, Naples will head out to square off against South Seneca at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harley Allendale Columbia, they will host Geneseo at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
