Basketball Recap: Northwood Takes a Loss

If Northwood was feeling good fresh off their 58-12 takedown of LaSalle last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Northwood Gators had to suffer through a 64-37 loss at the hands of the Lakeview Gators. The loss continues a trend for Northwood in their matchups with Lakeview: they've now lost five in a row.

Several Gators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jahari Mccoy, who posted ten points and six steals. Mccoy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Tinsley, who put up ten points and six rebounds.

Northwood's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Lakeview, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 26-5.

Northwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-30 win against St. Mary on the 24th. Lakeview has also already played their next contest (against Montgomery), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
