Basketball Recap: DJ Holloway's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dayton over Oregon Episcopal

Dayton kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 60-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oregon Episcopal Aardvarks. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Aardvarks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was DJ Holloway, who posted 14 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Clyde Rosenberg, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Dayton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-55 loss against Westside Christian on the 10th. As for Oregon Episcopal, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 62-50 defeat against Western Christian on the 7th.
