Soccer Recap: Piper Comes Up Short

Piper lost against De Soto back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pirates came up short against the Wildcats, falling 9-1. While losing is never fun, Piper can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas soccer rankings (they are ranked 69th, while De Soto are ranked 11th).

Piper's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-9. As for De Soto, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Piper wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, an 8-0 defeat against Bishop Miege on the 3rd. As for De Soto, they will be playing at home against Eudora on Tuesday.
