Baseball Game Preview: Thurston Eagles vs. Dearborn Pioneers

The Thurston Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Dearborn Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Thurston has given up an average of 12.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Thurston's offense. They came up short against Melvindale on Wednesday, falling 17-0. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Dearborn unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 18-7 to Stevenson. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Pioneers have suffered since April 9th.

Ayman Abadi was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Bilal Berry was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Thurston's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Dearborn, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 6-3.

Thurston might still be hurting after the 9-2 loss they got from Dearborn in their previous matchup back in May of 2018. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
