Baseball Recap: Monte Vista Takes a Loss

If Monte Vista was riding high fresh off their 18-10 takedown of Steele Canyon on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Monarchs took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Hills Wolf Pack on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 5, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Reuben Cabugwas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Antonio Mccomb also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Monte Vista's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-16. As for West Hills, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-10.

While Monte Vista had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
