Basketball Preview: Spring Valley Vikings vs. Sumter Gamecocks
Having just played yesterday, the Spring Valley Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Sumter Gamecocks at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Spring Valley will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Westwood, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Spring Valley took down Westwood 64-48 on Tuesday. Sumter was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.
The win made it two in a row for Sumter and bumps their season record up to 10-7. As for Spring Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
Everything came up roses for Spring Valley against Sumter when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured an 86-43 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spring Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
