Baseball Game Preview: Midd-West Mustangs vs. Milton Black Panthers

Midd-West is 8-2 against Milton since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Black Panthers at 1:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Midd-West didn't have quite enough to beat Danville and fell 8-7. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Ironmen: they've now lost four in a row.

Midd-West saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Smith, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and one double. Smith is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, Milton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against Mount Carmel, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Black Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Midd-West's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Milton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Midd-West was able to grind out a solid victory over Milton when the teams last played on Wednesday, winning 16-13. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Black Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
