If Marquette Catholic wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Victory Christian Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Gavin Whitaker. The Lions managed a 61-55 win over the Blazers on Monday with plenty of help from Whitaker, who shot 5-for-6 from deep and dropped a double-double with 27 points and 11 boards. The contest was his 14th in a row with at least 19 points.

Marquette Catholic's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Vaughn Rael-Kludt, who went 6-for-14 en route to 18 points along with six assists and five steals. Aleks Pecoski was another key player, shooting 54% from the field to rack up 20 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Victory Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Victory Christian Academy has already played their next game, a 75-67 win against Calumet New Tech on the 2nd. As for Marquette Catholic, they will host New Prairie at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
