Basketball Game Preview: Ridge View Blazers vs. West Florence Knights

The Ridge View Blazers will venture away from home to square off against the West Florence Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridge View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season.

Last Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Ridge View beat Spring Valley 77-73. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blazers.

Anasia Harvey continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Janiya Carter, who went 8 of 11 on her way to 17 points along with five assists and three steals.

Ridge View was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring Valley only racked up eight assists.

Meanwhile, West Florence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 71-13 loss at the hands of Blythewood. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Bengals are ranked third).

Gabreille Gunter was West Florence's leading scorer, having posted six points. Kara Fluharty held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Ridge View's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for West Florence, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Everything came up roses for Ridge View against West Florence in their previous matchup back in December of 2017, as the squad secured an 86-31 win. In that matchup, Ridge View amassed a halftime lead of 47-17, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
