Softball Recap: Williamson Warriors vs. Canton Warriors
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Williamson). They were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over Canton on Monday. The result was nothing new for Williamson, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Olivia Gee was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Gee was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Savannah Dean was a standout: she got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Aubree Roe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
