Football Recap: Connally Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Connally was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Athens Hornets, falling 61-34. The Cadets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, Connally had strong showings from Braeden Ford, who rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns, and Caden Coffman, who threw for 249 yards and a pair of TDs.

Connally now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Athens, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, after each having a week off, Connally and China Spring will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. The matchup will give the Cadets their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Athens, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Brownsboro at 7:30 p.m. on October 10. The Hornets will be up against the Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 47.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
