For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Kendrick and Lapwai meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 18-5 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by nine runs or more this season.
Xavier Carpenter made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Ralli Roetcisoender was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs. Kayne Lesnet was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Kendrick's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Genesee, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8-1.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Genesee has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. However, it's not like Kendrick struggles in that department as they've averaged .470. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
